Rotary Cutter Tail Wheel and Hub Assembly
A replacement tail wheel and hub assembly for rotary cutters, bush hogs, and brush cutters. The smooth, non-tread tail wheel is mounted on a cast iron hub and built to take the drag and side loads that run a tail wheel down faster than any other part on the cutter.
Size
The tire is 4 inches wide and the wheel stands about 15 inches tall overall, the standard rotary-cutter tail wheel size, commonly called a 4 x 8. Measure the height and width of your old wheel before ordering so you match the footprint.
Hub and Bore
The cast hub has a 3/4 inch center bore and a grease zerk, so you can grease the bearings in place for longer service life. Before ordering, confirm that your tail-wheel fork uses a 3/4 inch axle bolt. Many cutters use a 1 inch axle bolt instead, and a 3/4 inch bore will not fit those without a bushing.
Tire Construction
Rotary-cutter tail wheels in this size are typically laminated and flat-proof, which lets them ride over cut stalks and stubble that would puncture a pneumatic tire. If your application requires a specific construction, confirm laminated versus pneumatic against the product photo before buying.
What Is Not Included
The axle bolt and nut are not included. Reuse your existing hardware, or add a 3/4 inch grade bolt and locknut sized to your fork. This is a universal-style replacement, so it fits many rotary cutters that use a 4 x 8 tail wheel with a 3/4 inch axle bolt rather than one specific brand.
