This pinion shaft is a precision component of the swing drive (slewing reduction) gearbox on Fits Caterpillar excavators. It connects the swing motor to the planetary gear assembly within the swing gearbox, transmitting rotational power from the motor to the swing ring gear and enabling full 360-degree rotation of the excavator's upper structure. Replacing a worn or damaged pinion shaft restores proper swing function and prevents further damage to the slewing reduction assembly.
