The condenser mounts inside the distributor as part of the breaker points ignition system, suppressing voltage spikes to protect the points and ensure reliable spark generation. Always verify your machine is equipped with a Prestolite distributor before ordering -- this condenser does not fit Delco, Wico, or magneto ignition systems.
