This aftermarket replacement Cup-Flywheel (also called a recoil starter cup or flywheel cup) is a key component of the recoil starter system on Fits Briggs and Stratton small gasoline engines. The flywheel cup mounts on top of the flywheel and engages the recoil starter assembly when the starter rope is pulled, spinning the flywheel to start the engine. The most common reason for replacing the flywheel cup is failure of the recoil starter to engage properly.
