One New Aftermarket Replacement Woodruff Key - 1/4" x 3/4" (0.25" x 0.75")
This semi-circular Woodruff key measures 1/4 inch (0.25") wide by 3/4 inch (0.75") in diameter and is used to secure gears, pulleys, sprockets, and other rotating components to a drive shaft. The key seats in a curved keyseat machined into the shaft and interlocks with the mating keyway in the hub, preventing independent rotation between the shaft and the mounted component. Woodruff keys also serve as a mechanical fail-safe, designed to shear under extreme overload to protect more costly shaft and gear components. This key conforms to ANSI/ASME B17.2 standard dimensions for imperial Woodruff keys.
