This piston ring compressor tool is an aftermarket replacement Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton (B&S) part number 19230. It is used during engine rebuilds to compress piston rings so the piston can be safely seated into the cylinder bore without damaging the rings. The 19230 is designed Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton engines above 5 HP and is also compatible with many Kohler, Tecumseh, and Wisconsin small engines.
