This aftermarket replacement impeller fits Murray, Snapper, Fits Craftsman, and Brute dual stage snow throwers. The impeller is the fan-like rotor inside the discharge housing that receives snow from the auger and throws it up and out through the chute. A worn or damaged impeller results in reduced snow-throwing distance and clearing performance. Replaces OEM part number 1740584AYP (Murray / Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton). Shaft total length is approximately 15-1/2 inches; shaft diameter is 3/4 inch; threaded end length approximately 2-1/8 inches; gearbox-end shaft length approximately 3-5/8 inches.
