This 12-volt, counterclockwise (CCW), 13-tooth Permanent Magnet Direct Drive (PMDD) starter replaces Kohler OEM part number 12-098-12 / 12-098-12-S and is designed for Kohler Command horizontal and vertical single-cylinder small engines used in lawn tractors, riding mowers, and outdoor power equipment. It mounts to the engine block and engages the flywheel ring gear to crank the engine on startup.
