One New Aftermarket Replacement Ballast Resistor Fits Ford (Fits Ford/New Holland) N-Series Tractors
This ignition ballast resistor is used in the ignition circuit of Fits Ford (Fits Ford/New Holland) 2N, 8N, and 9N tractors that have been converted from 6-volt to 12-volt electrical systems. It is installed in the wire between the ignition switch and the coil to step voltage down and protect the points and coil from burning up. This is the resistor only -- no mounting block included.
IMPORTANT: Fits Ford 8N tractors, this resistor fits serial numbers up to 263843 (front-mount distributor). Fits Ford 8N tractors after serial number 263843 use a side-mount distributor and do not require this resistor. Verify your serial number and distributor type before ordering.
