This hydraulic draft sensing shaft (also called a load cross shaft or draft sensing bar) is a component of the rear hydraulic lift draft control system on Case IH (Case/International Harvester) tractors. It signals the hydraulic system to automatically adjust a mounted implement's position when it detects changes in soil resistance, maintaining consistent draft depth during field operations. The shaft runs transversely through the lift housing and works in conjunction with bearings, bushings, and seals in the hydraulic lift assembly.
