One New Aftermarket Replacement Insert Ball for Caterpillar (Cat) Motor Graders
This aftermarket replacement Insert Ball (part number 2G7468) is a wear component used in the ball-and-socket joint assemblies found on Caterpillar motor grader hydraulic cylinders, including blade lift cylinders and centershift cylinders. These ball inserts seat around the ball stud inside the joint housing and are a standard maintenance item -- replacing worn inserts restores proper clearance and eliminates unwanted play in the cylinder linkage, keeping the moldboard operating smoothly and accurately. Two inserts are typically used per joint; shims are adjusted alongside new inserts to bring end play back within specification.
