This A/C accumulator (refrigerant accumulator) is a key component of the air conditioning system in a wide range of Caterpillar machines. It removes moisture from the refrigerant circuit, helping protect the A/C compressor and other components from corrosion and contamination. It is also known as a receiver-drier accumulator and mounts inline on the low-pressure side of the A/C system.
