This throttle motor assembly -- also known as a governor motor, EC motor, or throttle control assembly -- regulates engine speed on Caterpillar excavators by controlling the fuel injection pump throttle position via a single cable. It is an electrical/drivetrain component in the engine governor system, connecting the operator throttle input to the injection pump actuator.
